Staged Reading of “Give A Man A Mask” was a big success!

On Sunday, June 10, 2012, we presented a special 2 performance staged reading – with a live 3-piece combo – of Richard Isen’s brilliant 3-person musical “Give A Man A Mask.” Inspired by quotations from the writings of Oscar Wilde, the show depicts a middle aged gay San Franciscan’s struggle to come to terms with death – and love – through his relationshipwith an imaginary 1920′s movie diva and a very real, attractive rent boy. Subtle, moving and woven with rich music the show starred Paul Plain as the play’s central character, “Gregory,” Veronica Klaus as “The Lady,” and Robby Brewer as “Chance” – the rent boy. Our artistic director, Anne Nygren Doherty, directed. Anne and Richard took questions after each performance, which led to lively and worthwhile discussion. The show was originally developed at the York Theatre Lab in New York, and we’re proud to have helped launch the show in its literary home.
