“PROJECTED VOYAGES”

SELECTED WEEKENDS IN MAY. TICKETS CASH ONLY AT THE DOOR (Seat Reservations can be made at atypicalactor@gmail.com)

Projected IMagesThe Overcast Theatre Returns for its 2013 season with “Projected Voyages”. Our first ever tackling of fully devised theatre.

Projected Voyages is a new and original devised work created by members of The Overcast Theatre Company in San Francisco. This piece of theatre explores scenes, monologues, dialogues, movement work, music, lectures, games, experiments, and improvisation with connecting theme of dreams, nightmares, and passing thoughts.

The production is split in two parts: one of traditional theatre showcase and the other of performance art installation. Audience members can expect to both sit back and watch an evening of live theatre and a night of interactions, activities, side shows, dioramas, voyeurism, exercises, and participation all while walking among the performers.

This piece was created out of discussions, dream journaling, explorations of themes of dreams, some established texts, memories, daydreaming, and the constant stream of pictures in our heads. Collaboration has been incredibly exciting on a day-to-day basis as we explore new topics at every rehearsal and devise pieces constantly. Experimenting with such a universal theme that is dreams our possibilities for works was boundless.

This production features 9 incredibly curious and imaginative performers that are not only actors but also musicians, magicians, yogis, mimes, singers, cinephiles, comedians, philosophers, performance artists, and movers.

Expect to see dreams of happiness, new experiences, escape, murky perceptions of reality, variations of personalities, scenes beginning and ending briefly, discussions of humanity, the topic of lucid dreaming, projections, live video, and uncanny encounters.
